Royale Union Saint-Gilloise has announced the signing of Ondrej Kricfalusi, a 22-year-old Czech defensive midfielder. He joins from Banik Ostrava, where he played 32 games and scored eight goals last season. Kricfalusi has signed a contract with the club until 2030. The young midfielder, who was primarily trained at Slavia Prague, made his senior debut at the club and was loaned to Vlasim and Teplice before signing with Ostrava in September 2025. Kricfalusi is also a Czech U21 international, having played 17 games and scored two goals. He participated in the 2025 U21 European Championship. "I'm happy to be here and look forward to helping Union in the national competition and in Europe", says Kricfalusi in a statement from the champion. "Last season, I saw Union play in the Champions League and I was impressed by the team. I'm proud to be part of that team now. I'm also looking forward to meeting the fans, the stadium has an aura." The Belgian vice-champion has signed its third summer signing in the defensive sector, following the signings of Noham Chibani (Aubagne, French third division) and Nikki Havenaar (SV Ried, Austrian first division).
